7 in 7 Challenge

Josh completed Aaron Ivey’s “7 in 7” challenge last night, which is 7 songs in 7 days. This has been a great exercise for him and of course I get the benefit of listening to the songs as we fall asleep at night.

Last night, after everyone had left our house from Gospel Community, Josh said he wanted me to listen to his 7th and final song before he posted it.  He warned me about the quality of the recording because he could barely get through it without sobbing. Great, now I have to listen to it! I can’t wait to share this with our child some day and hope it can be an encouragement to other couples in the same situation.

So to end this song writing challenge I wrote a song about the struggle my wife and I have had with infertility that has led to us pursuing adoption. This was an extremely difficult song to write and record but it was healthy and really reflects that we are trying to trust in God’s goodness in this season of our life.

Waiting for You

wanting and waiting, a child to know
one to nurture, to watch them grow
and in all of this, we know God is good
and in all of this, we know God is good

so we’re waiting for you, yes we’re waiting for you
a gift you will be, a joy to hear and see
and i never thought, it would be this hard
but God is so good and we’re waiting for you

in this we know, that God uses things
to shape and to mold us, to bring Him fame
and in all of this, we know God is good
and in all of this, we know God is good

so we’re waiting for you, yes we’re waiting for you
a gift you will be, a joy to hear and see
and i never thought, it would be this hard
but God is so good and we’re waiting for you

all good things, come from God
they are worth, waiting for

so we’re waiting for you, yes we’re waiting for you
a gift you will be, a joy to hear and see
and i never thought, it would be this hard
but God is so good and we’re waiting for you

Listen to the rest of his songs from the “7 in 7” challenge.

  1. Hey Josh and Kim! I just wanted to say that I’m praying for you guys and your future child. This song will be a treasure to your child! Your future child is so lucky to have you two. Keep your head up, God knows which one is yours and he is preparing you all for your great celebration! Blessings, Curtis
